ByTheWay (btw), it is Maggi without the "e" and yes, it is my real name, not Margaret.

"It's not that difficult to love"

zaedilux:

And I find myself compelled to agree.

Love isn’t as complicated as we make it out to be. It’s the most simple, most elemental, most pure, most beautiful feeling, emotion, thingamajig, whatever you want to call it that beats in our hearts.

Unfortunately, it’s also the most intangible…

It really isn’t all that difficult to love. We just have to love unconditionally, love selflessly, love altruistically, love acceptingly. We just have to love them the way we can, the way we know how and allow them to love us the way they can, the way they know how. We just have to love loving them and love them loving us.

+

It shouldn’t be difficult to love but I find that we end up weighing than giving. A calculated-kind of love where we put ourselves above the other in order to remain whole. I don’t think that there’s anything wrong with that. Without a filter, our emotions are raw. We’re human and capable of making rational decisions so our reason is our filter. It’s what separates us from other species. It takes a lot to decide to give your all, fight against our natural inclination to guard the only thing that keeps us safe, and stick to that decision after, regardless. There is a lot of faith put into loving someone because as love is intangible, there is a lot of risk into putting your all in somebody…for something so unknown. You don’t have control over love for you or the other so that feeling of not being in control makes people powerless…vulnerable…uneasy. And faith silences the other negative emotions that we naturally feel (ie: insecurity…).

So in essence, simply loving someone can be difficult since we end up fighting against our human inclination to survive what love would take away from us. And to have faith is no easy task as “faith” or “hope” can also be seen as being naive or foolish.

There is no book on how to love or who to love. It just kind of happens so when it does, how you handle it will be different.

Anyway, LOTR: The Return of the King is on Teletoon.
